The Wacky Willagers are a not-for-profit organization in 1982 by collectors who are obsessed with little lighted houses. We all enjoy displaying our houses, sharing ideas, and creating things in make 'n takes. We are also part of a larger organization, the National Council of Clubs (NCC).
Although we are located in the southern Chicagoland Suburb of Homewood, IL, we have been involved in gatherings throughout the Midwest, where collectors from all over the country meet for an extended weekend. Gatherings are a great place to get new ideas for displays, informative seminars, display contests, and you can buy that special something for your village from unique vendors...and of course, socialize with other like minded folks!
Over the years we have donated to several charities through the generosity of our members at auctions and raffles, as well as the donation of various items. Our main charity is St. Rose Center for developmentally disabled adults, located in Chicago.
We are extremely lucky to have Suzie's Hallmark in Homewood as our sponsor. Suzie and Fred have given us a place to have meetings, as well as spoil us with previews of new products. They devote a lot of time and put a great amount of effort into assisting our club.
Our meeting schedule:
January - housewalk
February thru May - 1st Tuesday of the month
July- picnic
September thru November - 1st Tuesday of the month
December - Christmas brunch
